Question: What should I get my dad for Father’s Day?! I always just get him a gift card, but he’s awesome and hardworking so I want to step it up this year.
Great to hear that you want to get your dad something awesome to show him how much you appreciate him! It can be really tricky to figure out what your dad wants, or what is realistic to get him. Fear not, there are many fantastic options!
Option 1: An actual present. Ask your relatives, his friends, your mom, your siblings, or anyone else who knows him well or in a different way than you do for recommendations. Your dad could have hobbies from the past that you have no idea about, or budding interests that he hasn’t shared with you yet. Surprise him with a thoughtful gift.
Option 2: Food. Whether it’s cooking a big meal or taking your dad out to brunch or for a steak dinner, there is no better way to a man’s heart than with delicious food.
Option 3: Chores. Make your dad the king for a weekend. Do all of the chores he’d normally do, and then some more. A weekend of complete relation is a major gift to a dad.
Regardless of if you pick one, none, or all of the above options, there is one super important thing to do on Father’s Day: let him know you care by spending time with him or giving him a call if you can’t be there in person. Dad’s are the greatest (well, tied with Mom’s, of course) so make sure he knows it!
Hope that helps! Til next time..
