Question: I have a ton of stuff that I want to get rid of. It seems daunting, I don’t even know where to begin! Any advice?
It can be intimidating to try and get rid of clutter, but think beyond the work of sorting through everything, and imagine your house at the end of your big organizational day. Doesn’t it sound nice when you envision a clutter-free home?
The first step is go make a plan and get organized. Find an area in your house or outside in which to put everything you decide to get rid of it. That way as you compile your things, you don’t end up with a big mess in the middle of your house.
Next, go one room at a time. It will be daunting at first, but once you commit to cleaning out a room, don’t leave that room until you are satisfied. Take breaks in between rooms, too.
If you have a bunch of stuff at the end, why not have a yard sale? You can really have a lot of fun with it by inviting over friends and turning into a bit of a party! Provide some light refreshments, a little music, and make a little bit of money while you’re at it! Take what you don’t sell to a charitable organization, and donate it to those in need.
So by simply focusing and getting organized, you can clear space in your house, have a fun little party, make money, AND donate to charity. Sounds like Spring Cleaning can actually be a bigger win than you may have realized!
Hope that helps! Til next time..
