Question: Everyone, myself included, loves holiday food! Sometimes, a little too much. What’s your advice about finding a balance with how much to indulge over the holidays?
Halloween, Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Christmas, New Years… all in a row! Each holiday, whether you celebrate some of them or all of them, comes with awesome traditions that we enjoy each year. One of those traditions is incredibly good food.
The downside is that this food isn’t always healthy. But there are definitely a few ways to eat the way you want without having guilt.
Firstly, you can go the route of moderation. Enjoy your favorite foods, but make sure you aren’t overstuffing yourself. Maybe even choose wisely by picking your FAVORITE favorites.
On the other side of the coin: A lot of people just kind of succumb to the holiday season and eat what they want. And honestly, that’s fine too. We aren’t recommending you eat treats and heavy meals every single day for months, but the holiday season is the best time of year to relax a bit and treat yourself as you gather with friends and family.
Finally, whether you choose moderation or have a little guilt-free time, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle with plenty of exercise. Being active year-round will help you feel good, and the better you feel, the better those holiday treats will taste!
Hope that helps! Till next time…
